Went to the doctor today for my 24 week check up. The doctor says the baby’s right on schedule where he should be. Since I can feel baby, I tend not to worry so much about how he’s doing, but still hearing those words each time is such a huge relief.
Found out for sure my doctor won’t be attending the birth, since she doesn’t do rounds at the hospital. It’s a bummer, but she did say they have midwifes on staff 24 hours a day at the birthing center who are familiar with unmedicated births. I expected to get some resistance from my doctor about our choices, but not only had she heard of the Bradley Method, but supported our decision.
Oh, and got the obligatory lecture about being fat. But well, I was chubby before I got pregnant, which means I’m chubby now. I’m not too concerned. I work out 3-5 times per week, eat mostly healthy, and my blood sugar and pressure are all normal. Nothing makes me grumpier then going to bed hungry. Besides, I’ll have the rest of my life to be thin (which isn’t even necessarily my goal), so whatevs. 🙂
