Ever since going vegan a few years ago, I’ve also been trying to go more natural with all my products. One of the last things I’m overhauling is my beauty routine. For years I’ve been an absolute beauty junkie and have collected tons and tons of product (which honestly didn’t always jive with my cruelty free philosophy). So, I’ve been on the hunt to replace many of my old products.
Which is why I was so excited to try the Dead Sea Mud Mask by Pure & Essential Minerals. The first thing I noticed when opening the jar, was a very fresh, slightly minty scent, which I believe is the eucalyptus. I really enjoy the scent, it’s noticeable, but not overpowering.
The consistency is fairly thin compared to some of the other face masks I’ve used, but it’s still easily workable. Upon application, the mask has a pleasant tingly sensation. The mask dries in about 10-15 minutes depending on how thick the mask has been applied. As with any other drying mask, you will feel the mask become tight and slightly flaky. It then can be washed off with water, or for extra exfoliating power buffed off with a washcloth or other material.
After taking the mask off, my skin feels refreshed and soft. I actually have really dry skin and psoriasis (mostly in remission, but I still get patches time to time), but this product doesn’t dry my skin out. There’s actually growing evidence that minerals from the Dead Sea can improve some people’s psoriasis.
I would definitely buy this product again. For $25 for 6 oz, this product is a great value compared to other face masks I have purchased.
