Your baby’s first Christmas is an occasion that will only happen once in their lifetime. So as parents, you will understandably want to commemorate it as much as possible. This festive season will be filled with milestones that you will want to remember forever. From opening their presents to decorating your Christmas tree together, memories will be made in every moment. So to help you commemorate your baby’s first Christmas and to start some new family traditions, use these beautiful ideas.

Buy a Stocking

While they might not be able to hang it up themselves just yet, a Christmas stocking is a wonderful commemorative item. Stockings come in an array of styles and sizes and can also be personalized too. To make this item extra special, why not get it embroidered with your baby’s name. So when they get older, they will know which one is theirs. Don’t forget to fill the stocking with little presents that your baby can enjoy too. See children’s retailers such as Bubbalove.com.au for suitable stocking filler ideas.

Buying your baby their first stocking can also mark the start of a new family tradition. You can each hang your stocking on Christmas Eve in hopes that Santa Claus will visit. This is something your baby will adore and look forward to each year.

Visit Santa Claus

Visiting Santa Claus at a local mall is a tradition that many families take part in during the holiday. Your baby probably won’t understand who Santa is just yet. But taking them to see him in his grotto can be a wonderful way of commemorating this special occasion. Most grottoes offer a photo service where your child can have a photo with Santa. You can use this image for your family Christmas cards or have it framed and displayed within your home. So when your child gets older, you can show them the photo and tell them the story of how they met Santa. This will ignite their imagination and make then eager to meet Santa again.

Create Decorations

Christmas decorations can be beautiful keepsakes that remind you of this momentous occasion forever. Especially if your baby helps you to make them. You can create decorations using your baby’s hand or footprints. These can be set in clay or on paper using paint. These can be unique and attractive additions to your tree. Another option is to use photos of your baby to create your Christmas decorations. Visit sites such as vistaprint.com.au to create your own photo baubles. All you need is some festive photos of your baby and a computer. So grab your camera and get snapping. Once created these decorations can then be used to decorate your tree or home every Christmas from now on.

These are just a handful of ideas that you can use this Christmas to make it extra special for your baby. While they aren’t likely to remember it, the traditions you start will be something they can enjoy for years to come. So make plenty of memories and enjoy introducing your baby to the wonders of Christmas.
