We have a lot of bruises in my house. Between me being clumsy, a toddler that is still mastering the art of walking, and a husband hitting the gym, we bruise a lot. I keep a rollerbottle of this blend in my medicine cabinet and find I am reaching for it at least once a week. It’s easy to apply, smells nice, and helps speed up the healing time.

Soothe bruises naturally and gently with this mix of lavender, helichrysum and frankincense.

Avocado oil is naturally high in fat, absorbs quickly into the skin and enhances the absorption of other nutrients making it the perfect carrier oil for your skin. If avocado oil is unavailable, apricot kernal oil, almond oil or fractionated coconut oil may be used instead. Lavender and helichrysum may increase circulation in the body, and frankincense is known for it’s healing properties.

Soothing Bruise Blend with Lavender & Helichrysum

The following recipe uses a dilution amount of 3%. Feel free to increase the dilution amount for sensitive skin or younger children, or decrease dilution for a stronger bottle.

  • 10 mL Rollerbottle – I use these clear 10 mL with metal rollerball – available on Amazon (affiliate link)
  • Avocado Oil – Available at most health food stores or by NOW Solutions on Amazon (affilite link)
  • 3 drops Lavender Oil
  • 3 drops Helichrysum Oil
  • 2 drops Frankincense Oil – Essential oils are available at most health food stores or purchase certified pure theraputic grade oils from my store. Email Me for more information on finding CPTG oils.

Add essential oils to the rollerbottle first; then fill to top with avocado oil, leaving room to attach the rollerball top. Close. Shake to distribute oils evenly.

Apply to bruised area 1-2 times per day or as needed. If icing as well, apply oils after ice treatment has occurred.

Soothe bruises naturally and gently with this mix of lavender, helichrysum and frankincense.

I’m still on the fence about essential oils. I’m trying lavender in a diffuser to help me sleep.
