Composting Kit

For the earth conscious or plant loving father, a composting kit would be a great gift. A composter helps to break down organic materials such as grass, leaves, produce remains, and animal waste into fertilizer and nutrient rich soil. There are a variety of methods of composting available, including the use of worms or insects, raised garden beds and microorganisms. It’s great for the environment and a great addition to any garden. Composter and composting kits can be found at most home and garden stores or online. The Yimby Tumblr Composter on Amazon (affiliate link) is a great option for beginners, and can complete compost in as little as two weeks.

Kombucha Kit

Kombucha is a fermented lightly flavored and sweetened (or sometimes unsweetened) type of tea. It can be purchased at most health food stores, and some restaurants even have it available on tap now. Kombucha got it’s start though, through homebrewing. There are many kits available online, or you can purchase just the starter culture as well. The Kombucha Shop Home Brewing kit (pictured above) is available on Amazon (affiliate link) and directly from The Kombucha Shop.

Tye Dyed shirts in muted colors are really in right now. Make it more personable by adding details of your litte on into it. Trace your little one’s hand onto heavy sticker paper, stick to a t-shirt and decorate. Use spray fabric dye for an interesting effect, or snap rubber bands around it and do a traditional tye dye (make sure sticker stays on and dye does not get under). Piggy Giggles also has a great tutorial for a unique tye dyed handprint father’s day shirt.

Custom Photo Tie

If you still would like to go with a more traditional father’s day gift, opt for a customized tie. Personalization Mall has a great custom tie where you can upload pictures of your little one to put printed on the tie, that way no matter where dad goes, he’ll take a piece of his family with him.

Natural Cologne

Another staple of father’s day is cologne. But why not opt for something a little more on the natural side? There are a lot of great stores on Etsy that sell natural fragrances. Try https://www.etsy.com/shop/ThePinesApothecary, Inner Muse Elixer, or the Bohemian Collection. Alternatively, you can also make your own using essential oils. Try mixing coconut oil, and a few deep scents such as cypress, bergamot, cedarwood, frankinsense into a glass roll on bottle. And of course, the Herban Cowboy always has some great fragrances as well. Available on Amazon (affiliate link).
