Before you have a baby, some women worry about how caring for their little one will jibe with the rest of their responsibilities. It can be a very all-encompassing experience. But with a little self-compassion, it is possible to find a healthy balance in amongst the chaos of new motherhood.

Work

Firstly, it can be a tough choice as to whether it’s best to continue to work or not. Many women have worked long and hard for their career success, and can find it difficult to shift into being a full-time mother.

The essential issue here is to discuss it with your significant other and then make the decision that is going to suit you best. That right you. Not your parents, or friends or Mrs. Jones down the street. Yes. Everyone will have an opinion on whether you should stay home or go back to work. But at the end of the day, if you do what will make you most happy, then Baby will be happy to.

Remember too that you can always change your mind. Many women make the decision to return to work, quickly but feel differently when their little one is born. Be flexible with yourself and listen to that inner voice. This will help you make the right decision.

Cleaning

Having a clean and tidy home is pretty essential to most people’s well-being. A lot of us feel like we can’t relax if our surrounds are messy or dirty. But when you have a new baby, it can be hard physically and mentally to keep your home looking spic and span.

Too many new mothers just try to soldier on unaided, getting overwhelmed with baby’s care and cleaning the home. But it doesn’t have to be that way. It is perfectly acceptable to ask for help with running the home. You don’t have to be superwomen.

Ask your partner or family to help you stay on top of the cleaning. Or get a professional agency like in once in awhile to help you stay on top of it all. If you do go for a professional company, make sure to check that the agency you pick uses green and baby safe products like Tidy. You can click here to see tidy.com and get some more information.

Cooking

Getting everyone fed and watered when there’s a new baby in the home can be something of a trial. Especially if you have a specific diet that you like to keep to like vegan or gluten-free. This Is because much of these items need to be cooked from scratch to ensure that the right ingredients are included.

One way of dealing with this is to batch cook at the weekend. This entail cooking 5-7 full meals in one afternoon. Then Portioning them out and freezing them. Then day by day you can take each meal that you need out of the freezer and reheat. In this way, you can keep to your healthy, specific diet without the everyday day stress of cooking.

Another way is to share the cooking duties with others in the home. Your partner may take over that role for a while, or if you have older children they can pitch in to help as well.
