I received this product at no cost to help facilitate my review, however all opinions remain my own. For more information, see my full disclosure policy.

My 18 month old loves reading. Of course, he’s not old enough to read himself, but he’ll happily sit on your laps for hours when you read to him, only pausing so he can get up and pick out another book. Ethan has his favorite books, and well… I’ve gotten a little tired of reading some of them lately.

Ethan’s been particularly interested in alphabet books lately, so we chose the ‘M is for Me’ Personalized alphabet book. Each letter has a characteristic such as active, generous or imaginative, and their name is placed on the same page as their first initial. Their name is also incorporated into the picture art on various pages of the book.

The bright colors and fun animal art are sure to engage most children, as the two main characters are depicted showing the characteristic described by the letter. Ethan happily points out the animals, and depending on his mood, we sometimes will then discuss what the characters are doing.

The book is fairly durable in my toddler’s hands and has survived quite a few tumbles (and flings) in our house. Ethan is getting better and better at being gentle with books, and loves turning the pages. Sometimes he can still be a little rough with the pages, so we actually keep this book out of reach when we’re not reading it to make sure it stays in one piece.

My only complaint is the small variety of board books available. Although Ethan at 18 months is starting to be easier on his books, I still prefer board books to paperback as they tend to last longer in our house (especially since we have another little one on the way!). I would gladly pay more money for sturdier pages.

I See Me has a wide variety of books and gifts for every occaision, including birth & adoption, holidays, and birthdays. There’s a wide variety of topics that are appropriate for most age groups 0-10 and gift cards are available. We actually just gave Ethan’s cousin a giftcard for her second birthday.
